School Exchanges and Global Connections

International Exchanges

Alongside local events, St Leonards are currently running exchange programmes with Schloss Neubeuern in Bavaria, Germany, and Le Régent in Switzerland.

Each year, 4 to 5 pupils visit and stay at one of these schools for 2 to 3 weeks, attending lessons and boarding with pupils. They also take part in school trips and a wide range of after-school activities.

The cost of the exchanges is limited to travel and airport transfers. We are also exploring additional partnerships with schools in France and China.

Schloss Neubeuern, Bavaria, Germany

19 May to 4 June 2025

Schloss Neubeuern is a day and boarding school located in a scenic Bavarian town. Pupils joining the exchange will attend small, well-equipped classes. As a paperless school, all exchange pupils are provided with iPads. Lessons are held in German, with additional German language support available.

Pupils in Years 8 to 11 follow the science and technology pathway or the business pathway, and learn alongside international peers preparing for the German Abitur (A Level equivalent) or the International Baccalaureate.

There is a wide range of co-curricular opportunities, including:

  • Golf lessons at a nearby golf club in Patting
  • Horse riding
  • Cultural excursions, such as visits to King Ludwig’s castles

Schloss Neubeuern is close to Munich and Salzburg, offering access to some of Bavaria’s most famous landmarks.

Le Régent, Crans Montana, Switzerland

19 to 26 May 2025

Le Régent is located in the Swiss Alps and offers a holistic, internationally focused education. Like St Leonards, it teaches the International Baccalaureate, and lessons are delivered in English. Pupils also have the opportunity to improve their French through local interactions and optional language support.

This exchange includes:

  • Academic and social integration with Le Régent pupils
  • A full golf exchange experience
  • Entry into the Le Régent Golf Tournament on 25 May

This is an exciting opportunity for pupils to broaden their horizons, both academically and culturally, while developing their golf and language skills.
