Daniel Main
Daniel joined St Leonards as the new Director of Sport in August 2024. With a background in football, including experience with Raith Rovers and clubs in the Scottish Football League, his passion for sport and working with young people led him to a career in education.
As Director of Sport, Daniel aims to foster a culture of excellence, encouraging all students to participate and excel in their chosen disciplines. He is dedicated to creating pathways that inspire students to reach their full potential, whether they aim to compete at high levels or enjoy the benefits of physical activity.
Daniel is grateful for the warm welcome he has received and is excited to be part of such an exceptional school community.
Sporting Excellence & Wellbeing
Pioneering from the outset, St Leonards has continued to excel in sports, founding the St Leonards-Madras Blues community youth rugby partnership in 2017 and producing national and international athletes in sports such as hockey, lacrosse, rugby, golf, rifle shooting, and cross-country running.
Team and individual sports are key to life at St Leonards, helping to develop crucial skills like discipline, respect, teamwork, and determination. Both Junior and Senior teams compete regularly against other schools, emphasizing communication and resilience in a wide range of fixtures.
Our state-of-the-art facilities cater to all levels of ability, with grass playing fields, all-weather pitches, squash courts, a 25m indoor swimming pool, and a gymnasium, all designed to promote fitness and wellbeing in line with our holistic educational approach.
