Community Spirit
The International Baccalaureate is committed to developing the next generation of individuals who will contribute to the world both during and after their education. Through the Year 9 Community Project in the Middle Years Programme to Service Learning in the IBCP and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) in the IBDP, the opportunities to change the world for the better are endless.
Pupils at St Leonards can participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, join our active Pride group, perform music for elderly residents in care homes, support the local food bank or collect unwanted sewing machines to send to countries in need of tools.
Through pupils’ development of civic responsibility, they acquire all-important life skills such as project management, teamwork, reflection, the ability to be caring and to be open-minded, and to demonstrate self-confidence and maturity.
St Leonards students are encouraged to strive to embody all of these values.
