St Leonards Seniors have traditionally raised funds to provide financial support for students who would otherwise be unable to pay the fees and to help finance projects which sustain the additional needs of the School. These donations allow St Leonards to maintain its place as one of the leading independent schools in Scotland.
Whilst many of the larger independent schools have significant endowments, St Leonards relies largely on school fees. In order to provide additional facilities and to improve our buildings, we require additional funds. Seniors’ donations in the past allowed the building of the Music School, Science buildings and the iconic Clock Tower. In 2012, they again generously provided for the restoration of the Clock Tower Chimes, which had been silent for more than a decade. Other funds raised have provided significant support for the Bursary Fund which provides means-tested fee remissions.
Our current project is the refurbishment of Bishopshall. The final result will transform the interior and bring the girls’ boarding accommodation up to an exceptionally high standard.
More information about the project can be found in our Bishopshall Brochure.
Please see our Legacies Brochure which explains how legacies are a tax efficient way to make a gift to St Leonards.
If you would like to make a donation or to let us know that you have arranged for a legacy gift to St Leonards in your will, please contact the Development Manager, to discuss how your gift can most benefit St Leonards students today and in the future.

If you are a UK taxpayer, you can make your donation worth more to St Leonards, which is a registered charity (No SCO 10904), by signing a Gift Aid declaration which informs HM Revenue and Customs that you wish to add tax, already paid, to your donation. It does not cost you anything more, but it could mean an extra 25 pence for each pound you give and really does make a difference.
Please note that Gift Aid will only be claimable if the donation is accompanied by a completed Gift Aid Form, available below.
